Michael Page makes it two in a row at Dixie

019

The Chattanooga Flash, Ronnie Johnson set fast time Saturday night at the Historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock Ga. Unfortunately, the “wheel of doom” assigned him a fourth place starting position. This inverted Michael Page and Acworth’s TJ Reaid to the front row.

At the drop of the green flag, Michael Page jumped out front with a commanding lead. The 25 year old Reaid moved to the outside groove and took the lead from Page on lap 10. It was all TJ Reaid as he inched away from the field until lap 15 when Bo Eaton brought out the second caution of the night. On the restart the lead car of Reaid and second place Page made contact coming out of turn four. It was Michael Page at the stripe followed by TJ Reaid in second. Michael Page led the remaining 15 laps unchallenged to victory lane. This was his second consecutive victory after winning last Saturday night’s Super Late Model Feature. The 2014 track champion Jason Croft of Woodstock ended his night in second, followed by TJ Reaid in third place. Forth through tenth place went to Ronnie Johnson, Johnny Chaistain, Shawn Chastain, Luther Jenkins, Dale Thurman, Brian Smith, and Mike McConnell.

Jeff Smith of Chatsworth took the victory in the Limited Late Model division. Chris Fennell finished second with Don Jenkins third. Jimmy Price fourth and Bob Johnson fifth.

In the Crate Late Model division, Mark Page earned his first checkered flag of the season at Dixie taking home the $1200 to win championship prize money. Zach Pilcher, Justin Shipley, Matthew Turner and Shane Smith finished second through fifth.

Richard Goode of Hampton Ga. grabbed his first win at Dixie since 1997 in the $800 to win Super Bomber Championship race. Second through fifth went to Andy Morris, Randall Powell, Scottie Pritchett, and Cass Fowler.

Austin Smith of Rome Ga. brought the fans to their feet as he went from worst to first in the Econo Bomber division. Dalton Polston was second, followed by Dan Meadows in third. Fourth and fifth place went to Kyle Beavers and Joe Trantham.

It was seven in a row for Jamie Cross in the Pony Stock division. Jason Verrong, Jeremy Ray, Bo Jordan and Jason Lowe finished fourth through fifth.

Anthony Pittman took his fifth win of the season in the Street Cruiser division. Edwin Scott finished second followed by Randy Ledford in third. Jimmy Wilson fourth and Stephen Smith fifth.
