Dixie Speedway and MUST Ministries Team Up for 6th Annual Food Drive
Woodstock, GA. Dixie Speedway and MUST Ministries are once again teaming up to
create a fun and affordable opportunity for people to support a great cause – the Must
Ministries Food bank.
On Saturday night, May 29 adult grandstand admission will be only $5 when 5 non-perishable food items are presented at the MUST Ministries collection table located near the main entrance.
“We are grateful to Dixie Speedway for its fifth year of coordinating a food drive to benefit MUST Cherokee food pantry clients. Each year Dixie reduces its ticket price per each adult to $5.00 with 5 cans of food for MUST. Each year we receive more and more food with 2,000 cans donated last year and this year we hope to fill our van to the ceiling! “said Must Director Kim Loesing.
9,614 individuals received food from MUST Cherokee’s food pantry between 5/1/2009 and 4/30/2010. The age range with the most individuals served was 5-11 year olds with 1,627 served. Food items currently in short supply at the MUST Food Bank: jelly, canned pasta, green peas. Other suggested items for donation: cereal, peanut butter, soup, canned meat, Macaroni and Cheese, canned fruit, canned pasta (ravioli, spaghettio’s, etc.), beans such as refried, pinto and navy.
Dixie’s Saturday night program will feature racing in 7 divisions of stock cars including Econo Bomber, Super Bombers, Cruisers, Pony Stock, Crate Late Model, Limited Late Model, and Super Late Models. Gates open at 5 PM, action starts at 7:30 PM.
Regular adult admission without a food donation is $10, ages 9 – 17 are $6, and children 8 and under are free in the grandstand. Trackside/ fence parking is $17 per adult and $11 per child, Pit passes are $22 per adult and $11 per child.
