Southern Nationals Bonus Series to Sanction Southeastern Classic March 10th at Dixie Speedway
BRASSTOWN, NC (February 7, 2018)—Officials with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV have announced that the season-opening event will now take place at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. on Saturday March 10th paying $5,053-to-win during the annual Southeastern Classic.
This historical event will mark the first race of the 2018 season for the track and tour but will also mark the first event with the new “Droop Rule” the series introduced in December of 2017. This will also be a non-points event. The tire rule will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56.

Series Promoter Ray Cook thanked Dixie Speedway for their support of the new safety rules that go into effect for this season. “I appreciate Dixie Speedway giving our rules a chance. This will give all our competitors an opportunity to get valuable laps under the new rules without it affecting their points for any of the three tours,” said Cook.
“This is also an opportunity for all of the other series’ and track promoters in our region to come and see how simple everything is going to be with the tech. process. I look forward to working with the officials at Dixie Speedway for this race. I feel Dixie Speedway and the Swims Family have always been a leader in our sport for the last 48 years of racing,” Cook went on to say.
The track will host a practice on Saturday February 24th from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
On Saturday March 10th, the Southeastern Classic also features a full racing program for all divisions plus the 50-lap $5,053-to-win Super Late Model main event, The pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstands open at 5:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 pm with hot laps and racing to follow. Adult general admission is $20.00 while Adult Trackside tickets are $25.00 and Adult Pit Passes are $35.00.
