Sunday ULTIMATE Event at Rome Speedway Scrapped – Dixie Still On Go

Woodstock, GA (April 18, 2018) – Officials of Rome Speedway along with ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Officials have made the decision to scrap the 2nd half of a doubleheader weekend at Rome Speedway which was scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd. “The grounds of Rome are still heavily saturated from all the rain the area has gotten the last several days. And now Sunday the forecast is calling for a 100% chance of more significant rain. We just think it makes sense to make the call now to save additional travel expenses for fans and drivers. “Everything is still 100% on go for the $4000 to win event at Dixie on Saturday.” said Dixie and Rome’s Mia Green.

“It seems that Dirt Late Model Racing just can’t catch a break with the weather right now. We were blessed last weekend but others weren’t. This weekend we get hit with it again. But at least things look good for Dixie on Saturday. I hate it for everyone. It was going to be a nice doubleheader weekend with limited travel between and two opportunities for teams to make some money. But we can’t change the weather so we will just be thankful that there is a good forecast for Dixie. I appreciate that the Swims family wanted to make the call early enough that people would be able to adapt their plans and save them some expense.” Added ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

The Dixie event will present round four for the Ultimate Southeast Tour. In two completed events this season Michael Page and Jonathan Davenport have both scored victories. Kyle Hardy currently sits on top of the Ultimate Southeast 2018 standings with 57 points. Tyler Millwood (53 PTS), Ivedent Lloyd (37 PTS), Zack Mitchell (36 PTS) and Michael Page (35 PTS) complete the current top five in the standings.
